Announcement: The "I Love My Friends" Giveaway!

The objective of this contest is to thank everyone who reads my posts, leaves comments, links up to my meme, and joins the games . . . which is kind of funny because only one person out of all of you will actually get anything at the end of it all, and that's only after I've made him work for it . . . but never mind. =P

Now, I'm not going to stop new readers from joining in, but as you will see when you scroll down and look over the ways you can gain extra entries, this is an interactive thing for the people who already show up. (Besides, think about it, mate: Crashing the party is one thing, but you still have an obligation to make nice after you get in.)

But before we look at the details, let's look at the prizes! My imagination and my funds being what they are, I'm offering different prizes but the winner will have to choose only one.

Cue cheesy 80s game show announcer voice . . .

Behind Door #1 . . .

Scream Triple Pack

You will get the entire Scream trilogy here, but (as far as I can tell) no extras.

But who needs extras when you have my Twelve Things about Scream and Scream 2, right? And if Ghostface can come back again and again with a vengeance, so can my Friday Night Movie. Expect me to break out of the 80s with live blog of Scream 3 next month!

(If you win and you'd rather have the equally bare bones I Know What You Did Last Summer Double Feature--because I've basically given away everything about all three Scream films, LOL!--please know that I'm always flexible when it comes to Slashers.)

Behind Door #2 . . .

The Essential "Weird Al" Yankovic

This 2-CD compilation lets the listener enjoy Another One Rides the Bus, Eat It, Fat, Smells Like Nirvana, Jurassic Park, Amish Paradise, The Saga Begins, and White and Nerdy without coming to my blog! (There are thirty-one other tracks, including some of his originals!)

And yes, I'm still accepting ballots for Round 1 of my current "Weird Al" Yankovic Song Smackdown! UPDATE: I've just put up Round 2, so you'll have to wait until I'm done with the "Found It on E-bay" Four to vote again!

Behind Door #3 . . .

Peter Pan Prize Pack

This includes J.M. Barrie's novel (Aladdin Classics edition), my current big favourite, and your choice of one of the three books I relate to it: At the Back of the North Wind by George MacDonald, Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment by James Patterson, and Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbit.

UPDATE: Read my evaluation of each novel to decide which one you want most.

Behind Door #4 . . .

Dusk by F. Sionil Jose

Yes, this is another chance to win what was the most popular book of my last contest/giveaway! I know a few other readers should get another chance to win a free copy of Po-on, even if it is an international edition of the same. (Note: it's not a translation; Po-on was originally written in English.)

See my first description (not really a review), to refresh your memory.

1) The winner of my first contest/giveaway is ineligible. (I'm so sorry, Stilwell, but you've had your run of cheesy luck.)

2) Everyone else who may join and wants to should leave a comment after this post. That will count as his first official entry.

3) As before, because Cue-card Boy, Camera Man and I love cutting up little pieces of paper, mixing them up in a hat, and vlogging the draw, there are ways to get extra entries:

a) Vote in my "Weird Al" Yankovic Song Smackdown.

Round 1 Ballot = 2 extra points
Round 4 Ballot = 1 extra point

b) Watch my live blog of Scream 3 and comment along with your own timestamps and quick takes.

1 point per comment
*and one comment per ten-minute video, so you don't have to spoil the whole thing for yourself

c) Participate in the next Word & Question game and get your poem up before the end of the contest.

3 extra points

d) Link up to Locus Focus.

"Subterranean Settings" Theme Challenge = 3 extra points
Any Other Day = 2 extra points

e) Suggest another book to relate to J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan. [Watch out for that future post!]

1 extra point

4. The contest will end 25 August 2010 and the winner will be announced, in the usual fashion, on 27 August 2010.

5. I reserve the right to extend this giveaway at a drop of Bat's hat . . . but I probably won't.

6. Yes, this is international! =P But note that the prize will be shipped to you by Amazon, not by me. Be aware of the customs charges in your country, because I can't cover those, too. =)

If you have any questions, leave them with your first entries in the combox. =)

What the heck. Lightning might strike even if I'm only a partial player....

@Sully: I'd be disappointed if you weren't!

@Ellen: That's the spirit! ;-)

But really, Word & Question is its own reward, right? (Right?)

Count me in! Did you know yours are the only contests I enter-- Just because they are interesting and different!

Yes I do have questions-- is each point earned another entry?

Also, how did the comment part of the last contest work-- I thought I might host a contest for my next milestone and have a comment component.

I'm in, what an interesting giveaway!

@ Dauvit: Excellent!

@ Lesa: Yes, points are entries. =) I should edit my post to make that clearer, aye?

Awwww! Thanks for entering! *hug* Would you believe I was worried that the prizes weren't fun enough? LOL! But they're certainly related to what I've been blogging about and I think there's enough variety here so that everyone has something he'd like to have. =)

In the last contest, I referred to the Top Commentators post on my sidebar and gave #1 ten entries/points, #2 nine, #3 eight, and so on.

@ Avid Reader: Nice to see you again! I hope you have fun racking up entries. =)

All right, buddy, but the customs charges are your call! ;-)

Okay, since I'm back to commenting, I'm in :)

Fantastic! =D

Oh, by the way . . . at the drawing of the previous contest/giveaway's winner, you were the only one without multiple entries. Which is to say, one entry. Almost everyone else had six or more (except the two drive-by entrants attracted by the international points). My brothers couldn't stop laughing when we put the single "Christopher" paper into the drawing bowl. And I said, "Wouldn't it just kill everyone if Christopher won this whole thing with just one entry?"

Better luck this time! (I mean it!)

What a perfect posting to ask the sweet Miss E to review a movie for me: Ramona and Beezus.

Hmmmmm. The last time I checked, the Beverley Cleary title was Beezus and Ramona. That just goes to show, I guess, which of the Quimby sisters really stole our hearts!

It won't be out in the Philippines until 18 August, but I'll definitely watch it and review it for you. With my brothers, too! =P (I hope you don't mind waiting that long!)
