What's a Picture Worth to You?

How about three pictures?

I apologise in advance for the terrible eyeshadow. I was in a hurry to leave the house and get to the meeting point.

Picture 1:

And now I apologise for the glare. =P

(The "ghost" behind my left shoulder is my friend Maan.)

Pictures 2 and 3:

I wanted one with the bag right over his face, but we couldn't seem to get that shot.

Well, he already looks like you git him, anyway.

Gosh! If we pay enough money, can we buy those things and burn them? Hey! We can start a tradition! The Shredded Cheddar Loserface Bonfire!

Yeah, I also wonder who gets these promotional materials after they wear out their official use. When I lived in New Zealand, anyone could ask for them if he was friendly enough with a cinema or video store employee. That was how I scored a poster of The Passion of the Christ, and a classmate of mine in the Classics department was able to get a huge display for Troy that she set up near her Classics professor's office as a joke. She ended up having to take it down, though . . . it violated the fire code. (Sigh!)

A display of Troy...violated the fire code?!! I'm not sure I want to know...

It was so big that it blocked the Fire Exit. =P

Big enough to...block the exit...okay...

Thank you, Berenike. =) It was last year's birthday dress. I usually cinch it at the waist with a white belt, but let it flow loosely this time.

(I never seem to get the interesting or serendipitous security codes!)

it is a truly great dress, the more I look at it the more I like it - it looks as though it must be one of your "this was destined for me" items. To be honest I can't imagine that it looks better with a belt, but then, visual imagination is not me strong point.

Here is a picture of the same dress from almost a year ago:

My pose doesn't show off the silhouette at all, I admit, but you'll get the idea of the appeal of the belted look if you think
"retro-60s":

I didn't start wearing it without the belt until last week--because I wanted to wear my new blue and brown shoes instead of my old white ones!
